01.01.2010 Happy New Year, AJAX!!
Apple Jax (AJAX) was attacked by something wild. He had a huge wound on his right cheek and neck. SDKittens was called to the rescue. Thanks to the holiday donations of our faithful followers, we were able to get AJAX immediately into surgery. A huge thank you to our friends at Governor Animal Clinic who saw us on an emergency basis and performed the necessary surgery on New Year's Eve! The good news is AJAX is doing fine. He's afraid of everything (who wouldn't be) but he's healthy and slowly coming out of his shell. The bad news is we used up the holiday donations and it's still just the first week of January. But this is what we do. We rescue the ones that supposedly can't be saved! And we have you to thank. Please continue to support us. We put 100% of your donations towards the medical care and treatment of the animals we save. Apple Jax has emergency surgery.

12.18.2009: Cadbury finds Love!
Cadbury was found in the middle of an intersection in the pouring rain on December 11, 2009. He was starving and was in horrible upper respiratory distress. We originally thought Cad was a kitten, since he's very small and weighed in at about three pounds - we figured maybe about three months old. But when we took a closer look - Cad has all his adult teeth, which makes him more than six months old. While still a young boy, Cad is much smaller than one would expect due to severe malnutrition. SDKittens stepped up to the plate because Cadbury is our boy! We brought Cad in, gave him the best medical care available and then showered him with all the LOVE we could muster. Cad is thriving. He still has an awful upper respiratory infection, but he's putting on weight, and best of all, he is loving us back! Cad has definitely found his way into our hearts. Cadbury

12.06.2009: Benson gets in the Holiday Spirit!
Benson had a good time hanging out with friends Bret and Robert on Sunday, getting in the holiday mood. Although the Santa hat didn't fit quite right, there were laughs and fun all around. SDKittens offers its heartfelt appreciation to Bret and Robert for their generous holiday contribution to SDKittens. Thanks to Bret and Robert we will be able to save cats/kittens that are abused and neglected and in desperate need of love, safety and forever homes.Thank you to our other contributors as well. Without the support of those who believe in what we do, we would be unable to continue. Our goals for 2010 are very ambitious. We are hoping to raise $500+ each month and hope to save more than 100 cats/kittens in 2010. Make supporting SDKittens one of your resolutions for 2010.

11.30.2009: Jenna is adopted!
Little Jenna and her sister Jemma were rescued at just days old and needed to be bottle fed. They were covered with fleas and ants and were severely anemic, but they are happy and healthy now and have been adopted and will go to their forever home (together!) on December 5. Stay tuned for the big farewell and in the meantime check out Jenna being bottle fed!
11.30.2009: Martin Still Available!!
Hi, my name is Martin. I am a female, tabby/white, rescue kitten and I am 6 months old. I was very sick when I was born and as a result, I have this clouding over my left eye. I have been to the vet and am currently taking medication.The vet said my eye will get better than it is in these photos, but will never be 100%. My eye doesn’t bother me, but sometimes it needs to be wiped. I am playful and loving and purr freely.

11.15.2009: Indoors - keeps them healthy and happy!
SDKittens highly recommend cats/kittens be kept indoors ONLY for a number of reasons most relating to health and safety. The most common reasons include minimizing cat exposure to outdoor dangers, traumas, toxins and deadly exposure to infections. Cats that are kept exclusively indoors live on average at least twice as long as cats that are allowed outdoors.
